We have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
—Romans 5:1
The verdict? Guilty! (Rom 3:23). The sentence? Death! (Rom 6:23).
But Jesus came down, stepped up, and died in your place.
You walked away:
Justified. You have been “justified freely by his grace” (Rom 3:24). Proclaimed innocent, declared righteous.
Redeemed. You have been “redeemed . . . with the precious blood of Christ” (1 Pt 1:18, 19). Bought and paid for.
Reconciled. You have been “reconciled to him through the death of his Son” (Rom 5:10). You are now his friend.
Cleansed. You have been purified by “the blood of Jesus . . . from all sin” (1 Jn 1:7). Washed, scrubbed clean.
God ran his finger down the page, stopped at your name, and wrote, “Justified, Redeemed, Reconciled, Cleansed.”
Final verdict? Not guilty! Have a good day.
Peace rules the day when Jesus rules the life.
