Be Nice

Be kind and compassionate to one another.
                            —Ephesians 4:32

It was a school auction; the item for bid was an adorable puppy. All bidders had dropped out, except two: a man and a woman. Back and forth the two went, upping the price to several thousand dollars. Finally, the man gave up, and the puppy was presented to the woman. Guess what she did! She walked across the room and gave the puppy to her competitor. Such a beautiful gesture of kindness.

I’m embarrassed and offended by the childishness of adults in high positions: name-calling, finger-pointing, blame-gaming. It’s shameful that politics and kindness can’t exist in the same room.

But kindness and compassion still find a place in your neck of the woods—and you’re the reason they do.

A better world begins with you.
