Christ died and returned to life.
—Romans 14:9
Jesus’ disciples were curious: When would the end come? It was a short conversation: Jesus told them, “About that day or hour no one knows” (Mt 24:36).
We don’t know if the time in which we’re living is in historical infancy or in old age.
But one thing we do know: the resurrection of Jesus changes the tragedies of any age and any life into glorious and eternal victory. What is of “first importance,” wrote Paul, is “that Christ died for our sins . . . that he was buried [and] that he was raised on the third day” (1 Cor 15:3, 4).
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom 10:9).
That’s something you can know.
