Your Living Hope

[God] has caused us to be
born again to a living hope.
             —1 Peter 1:3

Life without Jesus is a bleak and empty existence. It’s impossible to amass enough wealth, join enough clubs, implement enough hobbies, or engage in enough entertainment to fill the emptiness.

But when you commit your life to Jesus, you are “born again to a living hope” that curtails emptiness. It gives you something to live for and something to look forward to: “an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you” (1 Pt 1:4).

A living hope is never diminished, never disappoints, and never dies. Earthly troubles can’t kill it, for it is “kept in heaven for you.” It is fail-safe and has your name on it. Grab hold of that promise, and it will put a spring in your step, no matter how steep the climb.

Your cup is filled to the brim and overflowing
with a living hope.
