Mordecai’s message to Esther was that she should consider the possibility that God had placed her with the right gifts in the right place at the right time: “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this” (Est 4:14).
Esther had won the beauty pageant and become queen. But she was not responsible for her beauty: she had not sculpted her nose, created the shape of her eyes, or crafted the contours of her body.
Mordecai believed that God had done all this to put Esther in a unique position for a unique purpose.
Pause and ponder. God has given you unique gifts, put you in a unique place, at a unique time, for a unique purpose: perfectly positioned you for works that he “prepared beforehand” (Eph 2:10).
