Mind Control

Take captive every thought.
     —2 Corinthians 10:5

There’s a battle going on in your mind between right and wrong.

Even the strongest face struggle. Take Paul: “I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another law at work within me that is at war with my mind” (Rom 7:22–23 NLT).

Satan can’t take control of your mind without your consent, but he can slip in thoughts that morph into temptation. Don’t fall for it. James tells us that if we resist the devil he will flee (Jas 4:7). Old Scratch can’t stand the heat of defeat, so when he’s losing, he’ll tuck tail and run. But watch out! He’ll be back. He’s always watching for the next “opportune time” (Lk 4:13).

Take charge by taking captive every thought (2 Cor 10:5). Not easy, but you can do it.

Don’t rent a room in your mind to Satan.
