Each of us has God-given work to do. Paul spells it out in Ephesians:
He chose us before the creation of the world (1:4).
He designed and assigned specific works for each of us (2:10).
He gave us the gifts needed to accomplish them (4:7-8, 11-13).
If we don’t show up for work, our tasks aren’t rolled over into inventory to be performed by some other person at some other time; they forever remain in the Unfinished-Business file.
Some are inept at taking care of their business, but expert at knowing how others should take care of theirs.
