Disqualified? Unqualified?

Surrender your whole being to [God]
to be used for righteous purposes.
             —Romans 6:13 TEV

Have you given serious thought to how God wants to use you and how you qualify for the job? If you’re evading the contemplation, it probably comes down to one of two words: disqualified or unqualified.

I am disqualified—my past sins mark me as unusable.

I am unqualified—my lack of education, abilities, and skills mark me as unfit.

For disqualified, consider Paul, a pre-conversion terrorist intent on destroying the church, committing Christians to prison and death.

For unqualified, consider Moses, a stammering speaker who implored God to use someone else.

You are not disqualified: Your confessed sins have been forgiven and forgotten, and you have been declared righteous.

You are not unqualified: God has given you the gifts to fulfill the job he assigned you before you were born.

You are neither disqualified nor unqualified.
