Conflict. Bickering. Divorce. War. The fruits of selfishness. “Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that war within you” (Jas 4:1 NCV).
Self-centeredness is a noxious seed that produces a crummy crop. “The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others . . . harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds” (Gal 6:7, 8 MSG).
Selfishness destroys relationships. Its opposite is selflessness (self-less-ness). Selflessness means “less of me” and “more of you.” “Do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. . . . Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others” (Phil 2:3, 4).
Nature has no flipside—you reap what you sow.
