Mercy abstains from giving us what we deserve—condemnation and hell.
Grace gives us what we don’t deserve—forgiveness and heaven.
When you realize that you are not going to get what you deserve, and that you are going to get what you don’t deserve, you will know “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding” (Phil. 4:7).
