Grace, mercy and peace from
God the Father and from Jesus Christ.
—2 John 1:3
Grace. Mercy. Peace.
Grace is the undeserved favor of God.
Mercy is the unmerited compassion of God.
Peace is the unequaled gift of God—conferred when the guilt of sin is erased by his grace and the misery of sin eliminated by his mercy.
Mercy abstains from giving us what we deserve—condemnation and hell.
Grace gives us what we don’t deserve—forgiveness and heaven.
When you realize that you are not going to get what you deserve, and that you are going to get what you don’t deserve, you will know “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding” (Phil. 4:7).
Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord (2 Pet. 1:2).
Grace, Mercy, and Peace—gift-wrapped
by God and left at your door.
