How do You Use Your Downtime?

Come near to God and
he will come near to you.
           —James 4:8

How do you use your downtime?

I don’t have any downtime you say.

You may have more than you think. One study calculated that if you live the average lifetime you will spend six months at stoplights, four and a half years driving (including 43 hours per year stuck in traffic), and five years standing in lines.

Transform those stuck-in-the-line waits into an intercessory holy place. The bone-weary cashier could use a “Father, bless her.” So could the single mom that just got laid off. And toss one in for the guy in the wheelchair.

Convert those trapped-in-the-car hours into prayer time; your chapel instead of your prison.

The other line always moves faster.
