We have different gifts,
according to the grace given to each of us.
—Romans 12:6
In his book, The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren proposed five core purposes of human existence:
- Worship: knowing and loving God.
- Fellowship: belonging to God’s family.
- Discipleship: growing to be like Jesus.
- Ministry: serving others.
- Mission: sharing the Good News.
God has a tailor-made plan and purpose for your life: “God has made us what we are . . . [He] made us to do good works, which [He] planned in advance for us to live our lives doing” (Eph 2:10 NCV). Do you have a clear picture of his purpose for you?
Success is not measured by pleasure, popularity, possessions, power, or position. It is measured by purpose. If you want to measure your success, you must answer one question: Am I fulfilling the purpose for which God created me?
Are you?
